F. Valentine Hooven III
F. Valentine Hooven III was born in Philadelphia and has spent much of his adult life in the theatre, writing, designing, and acting regionally and in New York. Since leaving the theatre in the mid-eighties, he has been a full-time freelance writer and illustrator with titles including Tom of Finland: His Life and Times (1992), Valentine's Shanghaied (1993), Emerging Erotic Artists (1996) and BEEFCAKE. The Muscle Magazines of America 1950-1970 (2002). He lives in West Hollywood.
