Richard Kilroy

Illustrator Richard Kilroy was appointed in 2010 by Christian Dior and Somerset House as one of five illustrators to produce an original work for the exhibition Dior illustrated: René Gruau And The Line Of Beauty. Kilroy subsequently produced work for a range of magazine titles and brands including Vman, Volt magazine and Commons&Sense. In 2013 a selection of ten works became part of the V&A's permanent collection of fashion drawings, available to view on request through the V&A Prints & Drawings Study Room. Kilroy also created a series of illustrations for Canali store window displays worldwide. 2014 saw an exhibition of new work, The Cosmo Sketches, displayed in Tom Greyhound Paris in collaboration with A Magazine Curated By. Fashion Illustration Gallery (FIG) also introduced him to their line up of artists. Most recently, earlier this year Thames & Hudson published Menswear Illustration, a new title written by Kilroy. An exhibition titled Drawings: Men & Style was launched in collaboration with Paul Smith to celebrate the release and new commissions for British knitwear label John Smedley & Paul Smith were also created. Kilroy also tutors at Central Saint Martins and has been a visiting lecturer at Royal College of Arts, London.
