Tom of Finland

Durk

£129.00

The Skateroom unites global artists to create social change on skateboards. Turning art into impact, one skate deck at a time.

The solo edition presents three depictions of Durk Dehner - Tom of Finland’s business partner, manager, lover and muse. The artist created a sketch of 28-year-old Dehner using photographs as his blueprint, making this a uniquely photorealistic artwork when compared to the rest of his oeuvre.

The close-up portrait on the first plan is striking in its detail. Dehner is seen wearing a uniform-style hat and a leather jacket with elements of fur. His gaze is fixed on the audience in a contemplative manner.

I feel like he captured my soul.” - Durk Dehner

These skateboards are featured as part of SHADOW-BAN, an exhibition diving into the hidden and controversial themes that modern art grapples with - ranging from provocative explorations of sex to bold commentaries on political turbulence - becoming a battleground for contested ideas while straddling the increasingly blurred line between the political and the not so, love and hate, suppression and freedom.

This time-limited edition is available until 1st of January 2025.
