Amelie Hegardt is a London and Stockholm-based fashion illustrator. Originally from Sweden, Hegardt has attracted praise for her pastel and watercolour drawings, which combine explicit emotion and style. Hegardt works with a variety of clients such as Vogue Japan, Mac Cosmetics, Sephora and Harrods. Her primary interest lies in how subjects confront, and are confronted by their surroundings and her work simultaneously invokes feelings of intimacy and suspicion. Shapes, which at first seem appealing, then appear to dissolve or somehow eerily fragment. They are analogous to the physical nature of her work – shapes bleed into the paper and plastic is crudely attached onto sketches.
