On the last weekend of April, Fantastic Toiles, a collective like no other aiming to break free from the rules and restrictions imposed by the current fashion system, landed at SHOWstudio for a 2 day pop-up shop.
For this occasion, Barcelona-based artist Nicasio Torres created an interactive installation curated by gallery assistant Guadalupe Ferrandez. A set of 90 original artworks inspired by the universe of the 30 designers part of Fantastic Toiles as well as the fashion film that Nick Knight directed for the collective.
Each time that someone purchased an artwork (all priced at £25), the person was invited to replace it with a new one -- that they could also vandalise and deface. The new set of artworks eventually created a new larger painting of a new face.
