Artaksiniya

Artaksiniya is a Russian artist. Hailing from Bryansk, Aksiniya works in Moscow, sharing her time between painting, drawing, theorising and textile design. She studied Journalism and Literature for six years before replacing words with strokes. Aksiniya is a co-founder and a creative unit of Square Lust, which started in 2009 in the name of love for patterns and textiles. Seeming formalistic, Artaksiniya's pictures still have a root in reality, being inspired by forms and angles of everyday life. 'My credo is to have no limits in work,' she declares, showing the same enthusiastic approach in small drawings, murals and large paintings. 'I want people to be delighted by seeing things from my point of view, gazing in the mirror of my pictures,' she adds.
